Our mission at MARTEX Road is to elevate Middle Eastern art onto the global stage and create inspiring, cross-cultural art experiences. A cornerstone of our efforts is publishing authoritative resources that spotlight the talent and vision of artists from this vibrant region. We believe books and periodicals are essential tools for introducing artists, their stories, and their works in a meaningful and enduring way.
In collaboration with BAAT Art and Culture Institution, our creative HR partner, we are proud to present our first joint publication: “Iranian Women Painters”, a groundbreaking three-volume book in English set to release in March 2025. This monumental work showcases the journey and contributions of Iranian women artists to modern art, from the early 20th century to the present day.
The Vision Behind Iranian Women Painters
This book series reflects our commitment to empowering Middle Eastern women artists and bridging the gap in their global recognition. During a pivotal event at the European Parliament in 2019,
we highlighted the remarkable work of Iranian women artists, surprising many with the breadth and brilliance of their contributions. Inspired by this reaction, we decided to create a book that not only introduces these artists but also documents their cultural significance and historical context.
Broader Initiatives
At MARTEX, we are eager to collaborate on additional projects such as books, unique catalogs, or curated printed media. With a database of over 400 artists, we can tailor selections to meet specific interests, whether in abstract painting, figurative work, sculpture, or photography. Additionally, we are keen to create a collective book of Middle Eastern artists to further showcase the depth of talent across the region.

• Volume 1 delves into the origins and evolution of Iranian modern art (1921–2021), exploring key movements, institutions, and the often-overlooked contributions of early women pioneers like Behjat Sadr and Monir Farmanfarmaian.
• Volume 2 profiles 70 prominent women artists, their unique styles, and their contributions to Iranian modern painting today.
• Volume 3 celebrates the transformative impact of women in Iranian art, shedding light on the fact that women now make up over 80% of art students in Iran, with many achieving international acclaim.
